THE TWO-MINUTE POSE THAT CHANGES YOUR BRAIN
AND WHY I DO IT EVERY MORNING
There are very few things in life that take two minutes and genuinely change you.
I’ve learned that healing isn’t always found in giant breakthroughs, deep therapy sessions, or long journaling pages. Sometimes it’s in the tiny rituals — the ones that reshape you one breath at a time.
For me, one of those rituals is the superhero pose.
Yes, literally standing like a comic-book hero: feet apart, spine straight, chest lifted, hands on hips.
And before you roll your eyes, let me explain something most people don’t know:
This isn’t just a cute confidence trick.
It’s science. And it works.
THE HARVARD STUDY (SHORT + SWEET)
Back in 2010, Harvard researcher Amy Cuddy studied how “power poses” affect the brain.
In just two minutes, people who stood in expansive, superhero-like poses showed:
• decreased cortisol (stress hormone)
• increased testosterone (inner power + confidence hormone)
• improved emotional resilience
• better performance in stressful situations
Two minutes.
No equipment.
No cost.
Just a pose that tells your brain and body:
“We are safe. We are powerful. We belong here.”
This isn’t manifestation.
This is neurochemistry.
WHY IT WORKS FOR ME
I use this pose every morning before I create, before I do any writing, and especially before I do something that stretches my identity.
And yes — I visualize a cape behind me.
A full-on, dramatic, wind-blown superhero cape billowing off my shoulders like the badass I am becoming.
That cape isn’t pretend.
It’s a symbol of the identity I’m building, the Queen I’m stepping into.
When I stand in that pose, shoulders back, chin up, breathing slow, I can feel my nervous system shifting.
I can feel old versions of me fading out.
I can feel my confidence sharpening.
I can feel myself growing.
WHY IT MATTERS FOR WEIGHT LOSS + HEALING
Most people focus only on food, macros, calories, steps, and supplements.
But I’m telling you, the identity work is what saved me.
Because food can only take you so far.
If your mindset still carries fear, insecurity, shame, or “smallness,” you’ll self-sabotage every time.
This pose helps break that pattern.
It teaches your brain a new posture.
It teaches your nervous system a new default.
It teaches you to stop shrinking in your own life.
When I was losing weight and healing my metabolism, the superhero pose reminded me daily:
“I am not who I used to be. I am becoming something bigger.”
And that matters.
Identity shapes behavior.
Behavior shapes habits.
Habits shape outcomes.
This pose hits the identity level first — and that’s why it works.
USE IT FOR ANYTHING:
• Before a job interview
• Before a first date
• Before a tough workout
• Before confronting someone
• Before an important decision
• Before filming content
• Before speaking in public
• Before setting boundaries
• Before stepping into a new version of yourself
This isn’t about pretending to be confident.
It’s about showing your body what confidence feels like.
Once your body learns that feeling, your mind follows.
TRY IT TODAY:
Right now.
Stand up.
Feet shoulder-width apart.
Hands on your hips.
Chest open.
Deep breaths.
Visualize your cape.
Feel the shift.
You deserve to take up space.
You deserve to feel strong.
You deserve to feel like the hero of your own story.
So before you scroll away, tell me in the comments:
What situation in your life needs a little extra power today?
I’ll meet you there.
Capes on.
